This is because the Republicans have deliberately rolled the political dice on obstructionism as a political strategy to make Obama fail and in doing so, have bet they can come into a majority in Government. My point is if that doesn't work and each party still needs something from the other to pass anything, then the events of the day and the outcry from the American People will drive compromise. We have already seen some Republicans (Jeb Bush, Lindsey Graham) state this with regard to revenue raising.
