Which is exactly what needs to happen. Then in the future, creditors will be more careful in who they lend to, or if they have short memories, they can rinse and repeat as often as needed.

Bond Vigilantes have been way more ephemeral then conditions warrant, largely because all the intervention has been aimed at protecting them, and thus keeping credit markets open to those who should not be borrowing. If one wants to claim there is a root cause in this circle of drunks, it is the lenders and not the borrowers.
