ed, I'll try to calcualte a guess and the 10's of millions of boards that cpq makes.. it may take some time. this SMT capability of cpq's is one of the reasons for cpq's lower mfg'ering cost. SMT capapcity world wide is becoming scarce. These SMT guys are charging a premy for that. So, compnaies like dell have to pay that premy. Soon, there will be an SMT bd in everything...even a coffee table will have one<gg> I do wonder. if cpq needed another plant if them would farmout some of the SMT and convert a SMT plant to the capacity they needed or build the plant they needed. I wish I knew the answer to that....??????????????
