"I have not conflated Nihilism with Scientism" Of course you did. You deliberately attacked Science because you are opposed to the facts of Science. But believing in Science as the best and surest path to truth does not in any way equate to nihilism. Your painful struggles now to yank your legs from the quicksand only snag you deeper! And using a reference to Fathers and Sons (a great book, btw--I recommend you read it) to equate ONE rationalist (who in the hands of a great author happened to embrace a philosophy termed nihilism) with the world of science in general...and THEN to pretend that science inevitably leads to nihilism--that is an uneducated, contrived, and deliberate misrepresentation! The fact is that very few scientists are nihilists (in any of the myriad senses of the term). You are attempting to revile science on a Science thread! Did you think you could just sneak it past your betters!? Heh heh
