What the USA really needs is more Americans fighting for America. That is precisely the attitude of many influential Americans ( T.R., Lodge, Henry James, etc.,) around the late 1890s early 1900s who were afraid they were losing America. We needed a good war to rekindle the American spirit. That's what drove us into the Spanish American war and eventually WWI.
