AMES is low end. Clothing styling is currently classic. Layer look is still very much in style. Wearing more layers at home; save money on heating oil or other fuel. Apparal sales will continue to be good this X'mas, because it fits the "mad" (pocket) money best. Whether X'mas is good or not is not a measure of Wall street's feelings; but it is the job growth and $9/hour wages kids get on Saturday and double time ($12/hour)on Sunday. They don't use credit cards. However, merchants who do not have door busters (for bargain hunters) will lag behind, same as last year. This year every store will be fighting for the young customers, who are not serious shoppers( meaning not bargain hunters but stylish shoppers). Soft goods inventory are 600% profit items, the more the merrier, but must be stylish. Quick discount will happen the minute the style does not hit. AMES has been good at soft goods this year.

AMES handle products from around the world, even Russia. AMES' customers are originated from anywhere on this earth. The products AMES carry represent the united nations really well. I often go there to check on the sources, since I became a stockholder. AMES is the merchandise it carries. Checking on the quality of the merchandises is the main reason for investment. People tend to think China gets all the business. Not so. USA products are available at AMES store. HongKong products are very few now that the production mostly moved to China mainland. Any stockholder who are interested should visit AMES and see for yourself. The stategy to out merchandise Kmart and Walmart is succeeding. Although, some day brand name merchandise will make AMES similar to all the other high end stores. But so far so good. $66 here we come.
