John, here is where you leave me. There is no evidence at all for any religion or myth. None. Not one shred. So what exactly would I be studying or learning by reading Tillich or Bultman? I am not intersted in anthropology. I am not interested in the many myths mankind has developed over the millenia.
Nor am I suggesting that you do so. That post was directed to Bread. . . who asked for something to read that combined theology and existentialism. And Tillich is state of the art for doing so. If you think religion is about believing in past cosmologies, then that's fine. But that's not what folk like Tillich argue.

I'm not asking you to read them; you've clearly already made up your mind about the "truth."
