I agree with you. Personally, I am probably holding too much oil&gas cos already, so I will try not to buy more unless we see additional drops in prices.

Re APA - I like APA but I wonder if the troubles in Egypt are priced in. APA has a significant and very profitable business, so any backslash may really hurt. When the market is liquidity driven, like it is the case now, it sometimes ignores bad news, but when bearish sentiment sets in again, it almost certainly will not.

I would not be a buyer here and I I owned a lot, I'd probably sell some, if not all.

I added a little more to DVN and APA, my E&P positions. FWIW (probably not much). DVN really has not been good to me so far, but it is cheaper than ever -9$/proved BOA (60% of it NG though). I do think that at the current valuation, some majors ought to be looking at them as an acquisition target.

DVN has been monetizing some assets already by selling stakes in their drilling inventory to foreign companies for what seems to be favorable conditions but even with that, they are outspending their cash flow.

WPX Energy, Inc. (WPX) - New all time high @ $20.29 +0.53 +2.68%

Stock hit an all time high today up 25% since last discussed 6/2012. I will continue to hold my small position. This one was a spin off from WMB. I added a few shares in 6/2012 at $15.00/share. Company has good reserves and their NG reserves in particular are supporting the price increase as NG prices are firmly above $4.00/mcf.

You also mentioned HES, APA, MRO and DVN. All of these are higher too and probably still good value buys at today's prices (according to the McDep report),.

WPX Energy, Inc. (WPX) - Reduced position by 50%

I got shares of this company from the spin off of WMB. I also added shares in 6/2012 at $13.86/share. I decided to peel off 50% of my shares (closing out my high cost positions). WPX does have pretty large proven reserves in NG which is something I like as long as the company is profitable. SFY is one I have begun to accumulate shares in for this reason. My decision to peel off WPX shares is that the company has a bit too much foreign exposure which adds more political risk that i want where as SFY's assets are located completely w/i the U.S. w/ little to no political risk in the investment.

The biggest gain comes from my initial buy of WMB which I continue to hold. These shares were bought in 2009 & 2010 at around $15.00/share . Not only did I receive the WPX shares but WMB is trading near an all time high at $36.00/share and pays a 4% dividend.
