What a nice festering pile of manure that is The festering pile of manure is the CA regulations. Politicians who assumed that they understood the industry better than the participants wrote a law that prevented CA utilities from securing their prices with long term contracts. After that the result was inevitable, even without Enron's manipulation price spikes would have happened. Trying to protect the "little guys" they wrote a law that totally screwed them. Do you think they learned anything from it?
