I think we need to handle drones over Pakistan, or over ANY other country, very delicately. We should only use them if we KNOW that know terrorists are there, and where they are. In the case of Pakistan, we've tried working with them, pointing out where the terrorists were, and requesting the Pakistanis round them up.

The result was, AQ friendly members of the Paki government warned the targets, who then disappeared, rendering who knows how much US intelligence work useless. This type of situation led directly to us not informing Pakistan of the operation the took out Osama ahead of time. The Pakistan government is infiltrated by allies of the terrorists, so, they can't be trusted.

In the case of Yemen, the government has problems with terrorists, and has given us it's permission to freely fly drone missions over their territory. Some of the Yemeni people object, but the government is on board.

David Ignatius' article is titled " Drones vs. Diplomacy". The consequences for the nation, during the presidency of a Democrat who once opposed many of the Bush administration's anti-terror methodologies, of letting 'drones' win could be enormous.

I'm for the drones. We give the Pakistani's 5 billion a year to keep the terrorists from attacking Afghan out of the Pak "territories" along the Afghan border and what do Paks do--tip off the terrorists about our operations who then ambush our soldiers. The drones thwart this to an extent and Obama to his credit knows the lives of the American Soldier come first.
