What is your point? The WP7 phones were all upgradable to WP 7.5. The WP 7.5 phones will all be upgradable to Tango, and then they will all be upgradable to WP 7.8 (see below), supported going forward, and the Nokias will continue to receive special software that no one else gets.

You want MS to do what Apple does, deliver software with missing components, or software that makes the phone run like shit - like current iOS is known to on older iPhones, or to not tell customers the truth about what is coming down the pike? Thats Apple's way.

You do realize that the opposite of fragmentation is a clean cut with respect to what software will run on what hardware, don't you? Windows Phone has the highest satisfaction for a reason... and adopting Android's business model of allowing the manufacturers to run software on hardware that can't handle or abandoning your customers from any and all updates, it isn't the reason.

Theres still plenty to be excited about purchasing a Nokia 900, today. If the features of Windows Phone 8 that aren't in WP 7.8 are really important to you, then by all means you should wait.
