Case in point, Cubans are a happy people. Thatts why not many of them left when Castro gave them the option to leave towards the end of their revolution.

Too much freedom is not good for society...

No I do not believe that is the problem at all.. Democracy's effectiveness is IMO, inversely proportional to the size and regionality of the population.. too easy for politicians to manipulate.. primary goal has become reelection.. good government may or may not happen.. like monkeys typing Shakespeare :O)
