I see Pawlenty in Romney's cabinet. He had some problems in the primary, but that was mainly because of Bachmann who was a fantasy candidate for a lot of people.

We need an equally viable VP candidate that can potentially run and win in 2020 after a Romney two termer and keep up any momentum generated.
That means someone young. A Rubio or maybe Rand Paul.

The idea that Romney would pick someone demographically identical to himself is laughable. And except for Rubio that describes everyone being talked about.

This can only be a smoke screen to keep attention away from the people they are REALLY interest in. And they are female and/or minority. That has been the safe "smart" thing do do for the past 8 elections and Romney when faced with an important decision always goes the safe smart route.

They dearly want to spring a surprise on the country when they announce the choice. That may be why they aren't going with Rubio - too obvious.

The Pawlenty talk is particularly silly. The smart folks agree he probably couldn't even deliver his home state to Romney, which has only 10 electoral votes anyway.

The 2020 election absolutely should not be a consideration. We need the best candidate to win this year. A lot can change in 8 years and the candidate that we think today would be the best in 2020 will possibly not be the first choice by then. One election at a time.
