i was specifically pointing out how a number of conservative republicans on this thread are basing their vp pick on gender/race, nikki haley is a first term governor with little experience and thus far she is doing a decent job, but in my estimation, that doesn't rise to the level of presidential timbre, and frankly, that should be the over-arching qualification....can this person assume the duties of president.....more and more the vp selections are being discussed in terms of 'excitement' religious or racial background, gender....NONE of which are appropriate in the decision process...

if you can find a truly qualified individual AND they are able to bring diversity or 'excitement' so much the better, but the primary analysis should always be determined by experience, knowledge, character and above all a willingness to honor the oath of office

i don't think we need another affirmative action candidate
