Glad to hear people are fine and houses are basically intact. Water damage isn't pretty, but it can be fixed. Most importantly, no one was hurt or killed.

We were camping on the upper Selway river in '99 and had been there for four days when we woke up the morning of the 5th day (and also the day we were planning on leaving) the river had turned from a crystal clear river to the color of chocolate milk. I assume it was run off from some distant rain storm.......although it had never hit our area?

Two inches in one day for a lake that size is incredible. Was the final rain tally 9"?

"Lake Superior is a weird brown color I've never seen before. And I heard on the radio that Superior came up two inches in one day. Which is inconceivable to me."
