This is the weekly look at the Group stocks in terms of percent change.

The week started out with day's 1 and 3 mixed, Tuesday was quite good, and then the "hammer" came down on Thursday for all kinds of reason. One reason was the economic data that was not quite up to expectations. Then Friday was an upday in response to the stretched rubber band to the downside on Thursday.

At the bottom line the Group was down slightly for the week as was the DOW and S&P

RE: Yes, but the US has a lot more assets than either Italy or Ireland

America's giant assets are almost nothing compared to its liabilities. We owe at least a hundred $ trillion on SS and Medicare. It grows by a $ trillion every week or two. The math does not work.

This type of bad accounting will never end well.
