I am not telling you to judge 80 year pods. All I am saying is that to goad them by giving them hope to climb Mt. Everest when they do not have enough stamina to walk a mile at that age is not kosher. And as per your liberal, you can ascribe anything to what they tell you. There are many folks who pose as liberals. Liberals are the intelligentsia. Hence, with an educated background, their sights are practical and they know well that they need to share. They know that it is worthless to shed tears on leaving a debt for the future generation but care not much about leaving a polluted environment. They know that they should not grab all the oil leaving the next generation nothing.
