Hi Jim, the economy is in the toilet, which is putting massive pressure on Obama's popularity numbers. That means he needs to pull a rabbit out of the hat to distract the masses from the misery of their economic circumstances. What's the best way to do that and unify the country behind him? War. Patriotism. It's always what leaders do when they are trying to stay in power. Syria shot down a Turkish plane. This provides Obama the perfect opportunity to wage war against Syria through NATO. He may also broaden that war by fighting a proxy war against Iran as part of the Syrian effort. NATO is meeting in the next day or so to discuss their response to Turkey's request for an Article 4 NATO response. We'll see what comes out of that.
