Via the constitution, the states have granted the Federal government the power to wage war and the power to tax. If you want to spend money on healthcare, then you need to; a. Increase existing taxes b. Create a new tax. c. Cut existing spending programs. Medicare for all is a proposal for healthcare financed by workers. Do you want to reach into the pockets of those who are working and pull out an extra $8K annually? That will go over well. We need the workers to pay for the healthcare for all those who are not working. As for the military complex... you know my thoughts about that. Both Ds and Rs are politicians who loot the future to bribe the present. I prefer fiscal discipline (ie Austerity) and balanced budgets to restrict the military industrial complex. My preferences for fiscal discipline makes me a winger.
