PX, Castlewood's Orb drive will compete directly with Syquest's SparQ drive. Syquest is trying to stop them - Here's an older article that explains:

It would certainly be interesting to know what kind of margins these folks are expecting to achieve.

I read about the Orb drive in PCWeek, Nov 17th. Seems this will put Iomega & Syquest to sleep. $30/cartridge (2gig) is what caught my attention. Once it's proven reliable, why would anyone want to buy fixed drives at today's prices?
