There is still the possibility of US debt being downgradedd on more notch also. It is had to be a fiat currency when you can pay your debt because the debt to GDP numbers are unsustainable and interest rate cost go up due to the downgrade.

I am not sure how to hedge the currency risk.

Some gold bugs look at gold as a currency as opposed to a commodity and the fact it won't lose as much value when a currency crisis emerges.

LAST UPDATE:06/25/12 04:38 PM ET Tuesday looks like a sink or swim session, with the best opportunity this week for stocks to bounce strongly. Positive catalysts will help but those have been few and far in-between in recent weeks. In addition, the market has spent 3-sessions pricing in a failure at this week's EU summit meeting so anything greater than zero could attract hope driven buying pressure.
