Robo, Does it really make sense to lump all government spending together? There’s nothing wrong with spending if it improves people’s lives and the benefits to society outweigh the costs. Certainly, you can’t put “insane” spending on unnecessary wars in the same category as spending on the education of children.

Well obviously the spending % went up when the GDP declined due to the financial crisis and the stimulus was passed to compensate. That is what pushed up the % from 2007 to 2009, or do you forget we had the largest recession since 1931 during those years.
