You DO know that the word "infidel" comes from the Catholic church, not Islam, right?

"Infidel is an ecclesiastical term in Christianity around which the Church developed a body of theology that deals with the concept of infidelity, which makes a clear differentiation between those who were baptized and followed the teachings of the Church versus those who are outside the faith. [4] The term infidel was used by Christians to describe non-Christians or those perceived as the enemies of Christianity. The usage of the term for non-Christian monotheists distinguishes the term from heathen or pagan. [5] As such, the term infidel has often been applied to atheists, whose disbelief is viewed negatively by both Christianity and Islam. [6] [7] [8]'

en.wikipedia.org

The Arabic term is "Kafir", or loosely translated "Unbeliever" who attempts to hide the existence of God (Atheists, pagans.. etc).

Jews and Christians are considered "People of the Book" so they are not properly interpreted as "Kafir"..

However, that certainly doesn't prevent Islamic militants from labeling all non-Muslims are Kafir, and worthy of death.

As in all religions, it's ALL in the interpretation.

Btw.. look up "Zealots" and their history.. They were probably the first notable religious militant fanatics and they were Jews. They killed anyone, Jewish or otherwise, who did not uphold their strict Jewish interpretations.

Also, do you know the origin of the popular phrase "Kill them all, let God sort them out"??
