John, the little difference is that he had the guts and connections to do the obvious and made tons of money. I can only speak for myself, predicted many downturns but was “chicken little” and took small profits or even lost money because of lack of conviction. One staggering example is my loss with SUNW which I shorted around 110 and it went up to around 130 with a little swirling double top only to sink all the way into oblivion - oh well not exactly but to around $5. Another such stock was LU who also levitated to irrational valuation only to collapse later after closing position and paying my dues to the short busters and the renowed WS wh&^e that decimated HP
