My instinct tells me modems will continue to dominate for another 3 years. Too many people are confortable with it now. However, at about this point, I see Sattelite connections winning out. The need for mobile access providing the catalys for this change.

Cable modems are great, but unless Congress deregulates the industry faster, they will move too slowly. I bet their already losing allot of subscribers to Sattelite companies.

There is one hope for cable though. More Bill Gates' could buy them up and turn them into competitive organizations.
