Let's face it, there has been and may ever be only one Michelangelo!

However, there is also Bernini.

My younger son is an architect, but also has a fierce appreciation of art. While studying in Rome for a semester I visited him and was introduced to Bernini. I think there are a dozen or so of his pieces that eclipse Michelangelo.

I never thought that until I saw them in person.

And my thoughts? How did he do that, how long did it take and who paid for it. :-)
