Call me mystified.

Would more of a stimulus have created a better recovery? Sure. But you don't get to end the discussion there. Krugman is exceptional at continually arguing for more stimulus, but never explaining the down side. His argument (just like the lowering tax argument) is that stimulate enough and the economy will revive and then we can pay off the debt. We can argue the reason, but to suggest we will pay off our debt is becoming increasingly ridiculous. .........Sooooo, we have a constant drag on our economy that is just getting worse and worse. That drag is the big sucking sound of our money going to others. All that money going to feed the interest on our debt is money that doesn't flow into our own economy. Making this especially bad - and another thing that Krugman just doesn't ever seem to mention - is that demographics are working against us in a big way. That's only getting worse as baby boomers continue to waltz into retirement.
