Google won't make any profits off their tablet, so I doubt that Apple is going to worry about the subset market between the iPad and the iPhone.

Apple has bigger things to conquer, especially the market for the iPhone 5 with China Mobile.

Apple would have antitrust problems, and not just in U.S. and Europe, if they introduced a '7' below cost.
