I think one might call that some form of "projection", rather than holography. Celluon has been marketing a device that does the same thing, (now for your iPad) since the mid 2000s… I've seen that. The device itself is rather large. Hard to imagine how they'd fit the components necessary to provide that functionality into a tiny device like an iPhone. But it would be a pretty cool feature.
