Certainly an important observation, but by no means foolproof. There were some pretty nasty thuds after some of those extremes including last July which is a very similar pattern to the one we are in now adn both of the ones in 2008. I'll stick with the model for now.

The chart is a bit old. The current small traders (<10 contracts) EPC is about 0.68, which is not that far from neutral. The problem is that these guys rapidly lost interest in put buying.
