I think Ashton is busy on all counts! This is from their Hallowe'en release: "The fall exploration program in Alberta commenced in mid-October. Core drilling on anomaly K91, 2.5km northwest of K14, has intersected a new kimberlite beneath 14 metres of glacial overburden. Results of microdiamond analysis are expected in early December." - - - - - They've also been doing aeromagnetics and ground geophysics on much of their properties in the area, as alluded to in several of their various NR's (lining up mucho more targets). - - - - - - NORTHWEST TERRITORIES (fr. PUG's NR, 11/3/97): "Ashton Mining, Pure Gold's joint venture partner on its Northwest Territories interests, has been actively sampling on the Roundrock, Cross Lake, Squalus, and JC claims. On the Roundrock, nine holes were completed. Two holes were drilled into the previously discovered Aquila kimberlite, and the remaining seven holes tested geophysical anomalies related to nearby indicator dispersion fans. The drilling has indicated that the Aquila body is highly irregular, smaller than originally anticipated and unlikely to be of economic dimensions. Drilling of the geophysical anomalies intersected kimberlite dykes. On the Cross Lake, JC claims, and the Squalus property, exploration activities concentrated on the collection of heavy mineral samples. Results from these programs are anticipated later this fall." - - - - - Of course, what we wait for immediately: "Ashton's summer exploration program in Alberta was completed in early September. Drilling and surficial pitting collected 5 tonnes of kimberlite from K5, 8.5 tonnes from K6, 27 tonnes from K14[reported], and 10 tonnes from K14B[probably next]. These mini-bulk samples have been transported to Ashton's Vancouver laboratory and processing by Dense Media Separation is continuing." - - - As well as a probable announcement of more extensive bulk-sampling of K14! - - - - - Lots going on, kids. This month-end/tax-loss selling is sure hurting the juniors (amazing buy opps out there, tho)! -J :> -TYR firm today
