For a fraction of that I can painlessy build a KILLER hackintosh laptop, with all the ports and chit I need missing on the latest MBP, which will run circles around that hobbled MBP, Mountain Lion and all!
Ha ha hee ho ha ha har heh…hoo…good stuff.

Michal, if I could afford it, I'd buy the fully tricked-out MacBook Pro in a heartbeat. And it would outperform any hackintosh you could put together, while still weighing less than 4.5 pounds. It has plenty of ports (remember that Thunderbolt ports can be used for Ethernet and Firewire), can drive up to three external monitors, utilizes fast RAM, and has the latest quad-core CPU.

I don't see how you can call it "hobbled."

Yes, it's expensive.

You don't want to pay the money for the MacBook Pro, so don't. But it would be a mistake for you to assume that you represent the average buyer, and to worry about Apple as an investment for that reason.
