I believe this to my core - they come to a decision first, by whatever loonytoon thought processes they use, then construct the legal argument to justify it.

And after 250 years there is enough law and law opinions to mine that ANY crazy position can be justified legally by someone with enough legal training.

but they can change their votes at anytime. One guy changed his vote while he was righting the majority opinion
