Oh yes, whatever came along that actually paid anything.

If nothing else, we had a watermelon stand set up in the front yard, out by the road, where we would try to sell the melons we raised. $.10 for the smaller ones, $.25 for the larger ones.

I was happy when the super busy seasons came around .. that meant driving 12 - 14 hours a day, days a week. If we hadn't had a 'rain out' day during the week, Sunday afternoons were spent doing the oil changes and other maintenance on the equipment. Made for a 'good' paycheck though, when pay day rolled around. LOL I was young enough then, a couple of seven day weeks of working from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, or maybe 10:00 PM, didn't wear me down like they would today. 4-5 hours sleep was plenty then.

I won't call 'em "good ol' days" ... but I can say they were much more carefree days!
