Re -- AMD appears to be dead money at least untill the second half of 1998.

And what happens in the 2H 98 to change that? Slot 1 pentiumII 99% of the market (low cost pentiumII's, etc..), and AMD still loosing money.

No doubt AMD may have their .25u process up, but at $50 a pop, they will have to sell the K6's at huge losses, further accelerating their road to BANKRUPTCY. (Careful about your AMD notes, nusance, you might not get your money back)

One other thing, with the price of flash memory coming down rapidly, and Intel's new cheap flash, AMD's revenues will plummet even further.

Do not bet on it (The dead money part). I suspect that you are right
about the delay in profitability but when higher speed and smaller
feature size parts start to ship in meaningful quantities the stock
will move in anticipation of the profitability that will be becoming
assured.
