It's cheaper than buying the insurance and if you need the insurance, you wait til you have a preexisting condition and the $500K surgical procedure, then you sign up for the insurance to get the surgery for pennies on the dollar. Then you go back to paying the penalty. See how that works.

I really want to see how this works with the 50 million freeloaders that can't afford insurance now. How will they afford the penalty or premium now?

It's just another handout (IMO) to the freeloaders, compliments of the middle class taxpayers and people who pay premiums now.

50 million people will now be mixed in with the premium payers in hospitals and medical offices. These people know how to milk the system and get fast service by screaming about perceived discrimination, and will be at the front of the lines.

could someone explAIN To me how a university can legally compel its students to pay for health insurance or they have to demonstrate that they alreadly have equivalent health insurance. one cant opt out or pay a penalty instead. this seems highly discriminatory to me and illegal. if you dont provide them with proof they just add the cost to your tuition bill. any right wing orgs wanna take up this issue? the cost of this health insurance also seems to vary a lot depending on the state and university. at some community college in maine its $300 in new hampshire its 2180 at michigan its 2813 in texas its 2000 in vermont is 2133. i think at umass its gonna be around 2600.
