smart educated people are easier to con because they are good rationalizers, they fill in the blanks to complete the picture they expect to see. Some dumb guy isn't even aware of the elements of the game, he just notices the $10 is gone and punches you in the nose

LOL!

The problem is that in this case smart guys are trying to con other smart guys... while the dumbed down population is coned into believing that they'll keep getting good things for nothing, happily ever after. If the dumb guy is smart enough to see through the con - the perps will indeed get punched in the nose. Next November.

In the end, it's a question of what we are made of. Of what we have made out of ourselves.

The combination of an impressive police apparatus and onerous laws shifting assets to the law makers who are also the controllers of that police apparatus worries me some.

yep, imagine a fascist state (which we are barreling down the highway toward) with command and control mechanisms via the highly sophisticated police apparatus.....

we are headed for very dark times if we cannot reverse course come november
