i'm fed up with the way it is right now....

i went to the emergency for a minor burn a couple of weeks ago and just got the bill: over $2,000.

all they did was apply a zinc ointment (which i latter bought over the counter for $5.00), give me one vicodin, and a tetanus shot. doctor maybe saw me for 10 minutes (his portion of the bill was like $550.00).

i dont have the break down in front of me but that tetanus shot that you can get at a clinic for around $15.00 costs $200.00 and they had some outrageous price on the single tab of Vicodin and the teaspoon of ointment.

i do have private insurance --- for which i pay over $700.00 per month so they reduced my portion of pay from over $2000 around $1,100.00.

my cousin had some bad heartburn a couple of months ago but wasnt sure at the time what it was so she went to emergency. she told them she thought it was probably just heartburn but they ran a bunch of tests and she showed me the bill --- OVER TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLAR$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!! for 8 hours in ER.

another friend of mine got warbly and went to ER and bottom line was after they ran test and could not figure out what he had he was still stuck with a bill for 40 - 50k which forced him into bankruptcy

i cant believe that citizens are putting up with this shit.
