You are right - we are lucky that a guy of Romney's caliber finds it in himself to go through this whole nonsense, and to serve. BTW, whoever will be president next term will, quite likely, end up being quite unpopular, since the odds are high that things will be hitting the fan in the next few years. Leftists - I refuse to call them liberals, for they are not - think that they know how to maximize the amount of fairness in the world. What they don't get is that there are always trade offs - in everything. By Robin Hooding wealth from Peter to give Paul, they may, in the short run, make Paul's life more comfortable, but in the long term they may be hurting him, since he will not be compelled to get off his a$$ and work. They are also demoralizing Peter - and rendering the nation less competitive. The reason that the US is such a successful nation is simple - no nation ever was able to start out with such tremendous respect for property and other individual rights - AND - place limits on government. In other words, the US is - or at least was - the most capitalistic nation in history. Capitalism means simply the right to own oneself - and one's property. And when some evil clowns can come and force you to do things, and can take your property -- that is no longer capitalism, and no longer freedom. End of rant... This too shall pass. Recently I found this article - it is longish, but I found it to be optimistic, and enjoyed it. It suggest that the great pendulum may - MAY - once again swing in the right direction. I'll link it below.Message 28198630
