We talked a little about the growing sense of entitlement among some company executives and the lack of understanding that a healthy consumer that can actually afford the products that companies produce is necessary to keep an economy growing, it looks like that message is trickling out to the main stream press even if in a small form.

"But ingrained attitudes also play a big role. The American executive class has come to view low wages and salaries as a sort of entitlement. Benchmarking is all the rage in corporate America. When it comes to the salaries of high-ranking employees, companies are eager to race to the top. No firm wants a reputation as a place that lowballs its CEO, CFO, and general counsel. But when it comes to the salaries and wages of the rank and file, benchmarking companies are more than happy to be in the bottom quintile. "

Hi JC:

I wonder if Microsoft is going to end up purchasing someone like RIMM just for the patents to beef up the move into the phone / tablet space. I still like the Nokia hookup for MSFT as being a hardware maker has not been softies strong suit.

Saying that I was in a game store yesterday (first time with my daugher) and the X Box seemed to be taking up the most shelf space.
