There was some complaining on the radio about the cost of former mayor Daley current security detail.....the number was something in range of $180k for a four month period, I'm sure that was probably only the 'visible' part of the expenses....It's one of those governmental expenditures that most just take for granted....personally, I'd like to see that perk means tested.....I suspect that would cut down greatly on the usage and costs. A prime example would be a former president that has no problem bragging about making more in a week than his old college room mate makes in a year......seems reasonable that he could afford to chip in a few bucks for his security......Far too many 'royals' in government service.
