Tom, OK at times Joe gets irritated at the naivette (sp) of some posters and he questions their assumptions or assertions strongly. Which you might call an attack. It is his style and most of the regulars on this thread accept it and got used to it. If he attacked you personally, I see why you can't react to it. But in that post he commented on Peter Lynch, who, by all means, is a public figure.

In the interest of free-speech, nothing prevents anyone (at least on this thread) from expressing an opinion on a public figure. In the last 12 months since this thread started, we have cultivated a norm here. We want to make money in the stock market, either being long or short. But we don't let our positions dictate our emotions towards other people. Sure we were bearish for most part. Often we mocked and jeered bulls as a group. But whenever a perma-bull showed up, we gave him/her the respect he/she, deserves as a person. If one called Bill Clinton or even Andy Grove names, I don't necessarily view that as offensive as long as some foul language is not used.

There are zillions of cheer-leading threads on SI which worship not just the common stocks but also some company executives. I don't see why one can not start a thread to worship Peter Lynch.

Peace!
-Mohan

Tom: I didn't feel attacked personally. But it seems to me that we
all can learn a few things from those that have been successful. I
only have a B.S. degree and my 40+ years of experience as a trader
and one-time stockbroker don't give me a corner on sound advice.
WADR appreciate your post. Thanks. Don
