> Status symbol

If you can't afford a status symbol car, or even afford a car...

an iPhone makes a statement.

That's why it will do very well in China.

Last week's report: Riga and Budapest

Today's report - Apple Store in Palo Alto: I visited this store last Friday and it is amazing how many people were buying laptops, desktops, iPads, iPhones, and accessories. The store was packed like xmas.

I waited for 45 min for a genius bar appointment and saw many many transactions take place around me. One sales person sold a few accessories in matter of minutes. He basically used his phone and in a couple of minutes the buyers were on their way out. While the store was full of people of all ages, races, colors, majority of the purchases were being made by middle aged white man (this was just an observation and not a scientific study).
