Saratoga Brands' Cucina Classica Italiana Subsidiary Enters Agreement To Supply In Excess Of $3,000,000 In Cheese BusinessWire, Monday, December 01, 1997 at 15:06 LAKEWOOD, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 1, 1997--Saratoga Brands Inc. (NASDAQ:STGAD) Monday announced that its Cucina Classica Italiana subsidiary entered into a supplier agreement with Amerifoods Trading Co. to supply cheese for distribution under the private label brand "La Romanella." The products will be sold through Smart & Final Stores Corp., Port Stockton Food Distributors Inc., and Henry Lee Corp., all affiliates of Amerifoods, as well as other unrelated wholesale and retail outlets. The terms of the agreement commence on Dec. 31, 1997 and continue through Dec. 30, 1999, and it is estimated that the agreement will yield in excess of $3,000,000 in revenues over its term. "This agreement represents over 600,000 pounds of cheese per year," said Bob Castellano. Cucina Classica Italiana's president. "We believe that this agreement will enhance Cucina Classica presence in the private label segment of the cheese industry," Castellano added. This agreement opens new avenues for Cucina Classica to distribute its Galbani premium specialty cheeses and prosciutto in conjunction with the cheeses to be supplied under the agreement. Saratoga Brands' Cucina Classica Italiana subsidiary imports and produces under license Italian specialty cheeses and other premium specialty foods, including the world-renowned brands from Egidio Galbani S.p.A. Saratoga Brands' Mobile Caterers Inc. subsidiary is a food processor and distributor. It services mobile caterers and provides social catering services as well as food distribution to more than 900 convenience stores and retail outlets in the southern New England states.
