Quite possible these low housing prices with record low interest rates plus the next new thing will give those taking advantage of it a better future and a light at the end of the tunnel. Nothing like building true equity 'conservatively' over time. Remember in the 50's to 70's wages weren't that great, few had stock market portfolios but folks felt better as their home values slowly went up combined with paying off that mortgage they had built up quite a nest egg in a generation.. We probably agree the record wealth disparity, very high costs of health care and education, Walmartization of corporate America and our politicians controlled by the military industrial complex, oil cartel, Wall Street ect..are headwinds to success but just trying to spin the positives cause in the end it really is up to you and the forks in the road you take...
