The letter, dated June 1, specifically identifies agents Jay Dobyns and John Dodson as targets of official retribution. Dobyns was the agent who had his family threatened and his house burned down after the Bureau failed to apply proper relocation procedures, and has been a longstanding critic of waste, abuse, corruption and fraud. Dodson was the agent who put a face to Fast and Furious whistleblowing in a groundbreaking series of interviews with Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News.View slideshow: Issa Letter to Holder: Retaliation will not be tolerated Issa warning against retaliation is nothing new, as Gun Rights Examiner noted over a year ago . “ ATF has earned a reputation for vindictiveness when it comes to retaliating against its employees,” Issa reminded Holder in his latest warning, noting that Acting Director B. Todd Jones "has yet to change this reputation," and adding “These apparent attempts to silence critics of the Bureau are potentially illegal and certainly counterproductive.” “The letter, obtained from a source close to the investigation, indicates that the woefully misnamed Department of Justice of the Obama administration continues to commit criminal acts against its own employees that it perceives as threats to the cover-up of the Gunwalker scandal,” Vanderboegh wrote. This is a developing story with further detailed information being analyzed that would be premature to make public at this time. It is expected that further background elements will emerge within the next week or so. Issa demands no retaliation against ATF whistleblowers. Compare that to the demands of those who would derail his investigation.
