Will there ever be any good news about ATML??? This stock only seems to have a one-way direction. Down. I have continued to be optimistic about this company through all the bad news, but I am beginning to wonder if I'm a bit cock-eyed? Does anyone see good things in the future for this company?

My comments on D. Morgan's warnings

The warnings from this firm was designed to cause the sell off.

With all the concerns about pricing pressure, ramp-up cost, and the Asian turmoils, the anal yst from the firm can only come up with about 1 to 2 cents short for the fourth quarter earning. Is this significant? Hey, the estimate of 35 cents is only the average of among different analysts. Atmel may beat this number. But they won't do that because they need the cash and play the game meeting the number only.

I just spoke to the Investor Relation and they said that the company is not changing their view from the guidance they have given to the analysts.

Talking about pricing pressure. Pricing pressure was worse in the first and second quarter. According to the Atmel's Investor Relation, the pricing pressure has stabilized. It is not as bad as in the first and second quarter. Why did this anal yst pick pricing pressure as an issue this quarter?

Asian turmoils. Atmel does 40% business in Japan. 70% of this get exported to the US and Europe. 12% of this go to the rest of the Asia. So the effect is minimal.

Read the comments from D. Morgan again. It is a double edged sword. The anal yst from this firm said one thing, then within his comment there are "but" and warning only.

Booking. One month up, one month down. You can't have an ever increasing booking. Since when did you hear this guy say Atmel booking is increasing? He chose to say so when it is down coupled with the Asian turmoisl to make things worse.

Why did the anal yst from this firm go through all the troubles and then keeps rating as "buy"? Hmm, I smell manipulation.

What are your comment and analysis?

Tom
