Apples margins have traditionally been > 40 in this area. Given Apple's ability to make things cheaper than most everyone else a 7" gonna cost them somewhat less than Amazon's which costs them $200. Apple is going to use better parts so say 180 which would put Apple's at $299.

Apple doesn't alway surprise below. In fact from my memory the iPad was the only device that surprised in that direction.
