The Wall Street Journal editorial board Thursday blasted Romney’s campaign for first contradicting conservatives who had trumpeted the Supreme Court’s decision that the mandate amounted to a tax. The editorial said Romney’s “failure to admit” that his support for an individual mandate while pushing health care reform in Massachusetts as governor was a mistake “makes him less able to carry the anti-ObamaCare case to voters.” The board also slammed Romney for playing into an Obama narrative that he’s out of touch with ordinary Americans by being photographed riding a jet ski. Romney will have the chance to pivot back to his core issue -- the economy -- after tomorrow’s jobs reports is released, according to First Read.

The man says he'll get rid of it, and Obama clearly won't. So, Romney wins the issue automatically, by default.

More importantly, there is zero doubt that Romney is better equipped to deal with the severe economic problems which we face. Obama has had nearly four years and has managed only to make matters worse.

In the long run, Obamacare is the more important issue as it assures the country will go broke in the shortest possible time frame. But voters are more interested in the immediacy of the economic mess and that is why Romney will win this election. Seldom am I confident about a presidential election. Never can you underestimate the collective intellect of the American public. That being said I just don't think they're stupid enough to fall for Obama twice.
