Edward, thanks for not lurking. Interesting analysis. IMO mentions by either of the two will not hurt XOMA but they wont help that much unless other events also coincide. For example the Lancet article combined with a blurb in Worth would have been "worth" more than either appearing independently.

Bob K posted something I believe is significant. The stock has not moved on news but that does not mean nothing is happening nor that the news was ignored.

The IDEC news was mentioned on t.V. and radio several times today and I even heard a spokes person from the FDA talk about its success rate. Few know Xoma was involved and will receive royalties.

I think the slow steady accumulation of data on XOMA will eventually bring in new institutional buyers. Brokerage house recomendations to some extent are related to business with the firm and thus may not come that quickly.

The question is of course when does the dam break and the price go up and I for one have no idea.

>>Did the JAN97 pick of XOMA by McCamant move the stock any? Did the SEP97 pick of XOMA by Murphy move the stock any?<<

Ed,
Welcome aboard.

go to stockwiz.com

put xoma in the ticker window and press submit. It will take you to a refrence page. About halfway down the page is a "Historical Quotes" page, choose the hyperlink that you think will give you a chart with the date range you want to investigate.

I offer this rather than the answer because I think it is more fun to discover the answer for yourself than it is to arbitrarily accept an answer to your question. Especially when you will discover the answer to your question will be easy to see. You may even be tempted note the surge dates and see if there has ever been any correlation between new releases and price.
